Bike Servicing
- Full safety check including
- Check wheels spin freely
- Check all nuts and bolts for correct torque
- Check condition of tyres and inflate to correct pressure
- Check bottom bracket for wear and free movement
- Assess condition and any requirement of gear and braking systems
- Check headset for wear and movement
- Check transmission for wear
- List any recommendations
- Check wheels spin freely

- Check gears and braking system and adjust as required

Our platinum service offer you a complete overhaul of your cycle returning its mechanical condition to as new
As standard service plus:
- Full strip down to frame and forks
- Frame and forks cleaned and checked for alignment
- All threads checked and cleaned
- Bottom bracket inspected, cleaned, checked for wear
- Headset removed, cleaned, checked for wear and refitted with grease and adjusted
- Hubs cleaned and checked for wear
- Cables removed and replaced with new
- Chain cleaned and lubricated
- Brake pads check and replaced if required
- All parks removed, checked for wear, cleaned and re lubricated replacing any parts where necessary

All prices are listed above as a guideline and can vary depending on the style., age and condition of bike. We have a minimum labour charge of £10.00. All parts are charged in addition to labour along with the charge for fitting these parts (except for our platinum service)
At Chiltern Velo we have limited space for storing customers repaired bikes and therefore will have to charge a fee of £3.00 per day storage for any bike that is not collected on the date agreed.
Like other vehicles and machinery cycles should be regularly serviced and maintained to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently. All of our qualified cycle mechanics are trained to the highest industry lever for cycle mechanics (Cytech NVQ)
Listed below are basic checks which should be used purely as a guide to general used. The style of cycle you ride and the amount of usage will always dictate the frequency of servicing. The best tip Chiltern Velo can offer you is that it is best to regularly service and maintain your cycle, rather than an emergency repair as something has broken.
Weekly Checks
